Case Study
Turning up the heat on a new sustainable swimwear brand.
Brands that go the extra mile towards sustainability are close to our heart here at Kubix, and we’ve been lucky enough to work with brands across a range of industries who keep this as their focus. From an ethical lifestyle store in Ireland to a future-first furniture giant in the heart of the UK, we’re always on the lookout for ways that we can help make an impact. One eco-focussed client took us all the way to the beach with their sustainably stylish swimwear brand Sweat Szn. We were eager to dip our toes in.
Sisters Faye and Amy Reddish are no strangers to the world of fashion, having both worked for the likes of Pretty Little Thing and Missguided during their careers. Their latest venture, however, has seen them move away from the fast fashion world they were once involved in, in favour of a more sustainable approach. This time? They had their sights set on sunshine getaways, developing their very own range of swimwear.
After seeing first-hand the wasteful impact that throwaway fashion was having on the environment, not to mention the bad quality of the clothes, this new direction saw them move towards sustainable fabrics that are made with quality and longevity in mind. Their hope is to conquer the throwaway culture one sandy step at a time.
When the Reddish sisters first approached us, they came to the meeting with nothing more than a name, a logo and an undeniable passion for their future project. What did they want? A website that would showcase their swimwear beautifully, as well as leaving room for future growth - and Shopify was the answer. We loved what they were all about so, naturally, we dove in at the deep end with their new project.

Starting with just a logo, a concept and swimwear designs already in production, our Kubix team got to work bringing to life a brand that would be worthy of any beachy, poolside getaway. As with any fashion brand, photography is key, and the Reddish sisters knew they wanted an image-centric site. From the homepage to the collection and product pages, our design team took this feedback during their process left plenty of space for large product images to create a distraction-free experience that would show the swimwear in all its glory.
But Sweat Szn was not just about sustainability. It was important to Amy and Faye for this new website to have features that would celebrate diversity and make their range available to every kind of woman. Large images on the collection page would change with a hover to reveal a contrasting size of model, showing the diversity of the swimsuit. On individual product pages, images would change depending on the size selected. These elements would give Sweat Szn a solid foundation in the fashion culture of today, as we begin to see diversity take its rightful place at the forefront.
Other innovative features were needed to make their website easy to navigate and to give shoppers simple ways to purchase, such as Add To Cart on the homepage as well as a shoppable Instagram feed. We integrated an upsell app that would enable another level of personalisation, proving especially useful with the range of bikinis through offering the option to mix and match and even complete the look.
As we were building the website, Faye and Amy were busy building the Sweat Szn Instagram audience, liaising with influencers and spreading the word about their new brand. This brought the product pages to life as we were able to include real women from all different backgrounds, countries and cultures wearing their garments.

With the website complete and a launch set just in time for the summer, our team got to work on a pre-live marketing campaign that was worthy of the following the girls had already accumulated. With thousands of people already signed up from across the world, the campaign would be tailored to suit a truly diverse audience.
Now, having stayed on board with our marketing team, we’re excited to take this swimwear brand to new destinations. Plans for future growth already have the sisters developing their own loungewear line and, wherever this new Szn takes us, we’re excited to turn up the heat.
