What’s more impressive than a website migration? Oh right, TWO website migrations!
Greenworks Solutions approached Kubix with a pretty common problem. They had a great business model, which was evident in the success of their companies Zepbrook and Greenworks Coffee. But their then current website builds for both were too slow when it came to dealing with the increasingly fast paced world of B2B, and were in need of a refresh.

Even facing two website migrations, we knew it was well within our capabilities. We gathered the team, stuck on the kettle, and got to work. Luckily, we knew some guys who could provide really good coffee.

Greenworks Coffee and Zepbrook are both B2B businesses owned by Greenworks Solutions. While Zepbrook supplies bulk order refreshments and related accessories, Greenworks Coffee specialises in, you guessed it, coffee. Both websites were different in their specialities, but their core needs were the same. They needed to streamline their processes to ensure a faster, smoother shopping experience for their customers, while retaining the large customer base they had spent years cultivating.

When Greenworks Solutions first came to us, both of their companies were on legacy platforms. While this worked for them for several years, the company had grown a lot since then. If any changes needed to be made, there were chains of people who needed to approve them, meaning it could take several weeks before anything was implemented. It simply wasn’t fast enough. It was time to speed these processes up.

Our first step was moving two websites worth of data over to Shopify. As Zepbrook and Greenworks Coffee were already established on existing platforms, we began the process of exporting and manipulating all their data across to the new format. Due to both companies existing on legacy platforms, there were more quirks present than in most traditional migrations. So with some areas that needed more attention, we rolled up our sleeves and meticulously mapped over all information.

Whilst the migration was underway, the design and development teams were busy crafting new storefronts. With a legacy layout to deal with, both sites were feeling slightly outdated and tired in comparison to the product and service they were providing. Our team undertook the mission of creating storefronts that not only reflected their brand, but the products they provided too. After creating and adapting a moodboard of ideas and implementing various audits, we settled on a layout for each website that were grounds for success!

Both websites use Sage as the backbone of their internal processes, so ensuring data passed to and from Sage into their new websites was a key facet of the project. With help from Zynk Software and their integration expertise, we were able to make the two distinct  platforms start speaking the same language. Once customer data was flowing between Sage and Shopify, this opened the door for us to include additional features such as smoother customer account creation processes that were on Greenworks Solutions’ wishlist.

Pricing data could also feed directly into Sparklayer, which we added into the updated tech stack, a key part of easily enabling wholesale B2B on both of the new websites. With the addition of this integration, we were also able to introduce features such as customer-specific discounts, custom pricing, and catalogues, while adding speed and ease of use to customers on both websites.

Once both migrations were complete, we were onto the finishing touches. That’s where Wotio came into play. This allowed customers to easily reactivate accounts on the store with all the migrated data from their previous website, ensuring a smooth journey for customers navigating their new Shopify stores.

The end result? Both Zepworks and Greenworks Coffee are now much more efficient, with an easy to use customer interface, and most importantly, changes can now be made and tracked with the click of a button, rather than taking weeks to complete.

It may have been double the work, but it just made the outcome doubly satisfying.
