The Brand.

Like all the best family businesses, Supernature started in the heart of the family home.

Mother of two Noele was facing a daily struggle trying to find suitable snack foods for one of her daughters, who was unable to eat dairy, gluten or processed sugar. Noele was determined to find a simple solution, so she rolled up her sleeves and started to create her own natural treats with just a few easy ingredients. The result? Her kitchen experiment paid off. The snacks were delicious. Gradually as Noele’s children’s friends and even their parents started to request them for their own lunches and snacks on the go, Noele saw the opportunity to turn her homely treats into a supermarket success.

Fast forward a year, and Supernature snacks can now be found sitting in pride of place on the shelves of WHSmith, BP garages and other well-known retailers. Suitable for both vegetarians and vegans alike, Supernature bars are gluten-free, dairy-free and increasingly popular with the flexible food market. But no matter how big supernature gets, Noelle and her family’s recipes, techniques and organic ingredients remain the same. They continue to make their own chocolate, they continue to roast each and every nut, and they continue to avoid any hidden processing aids, palm oil or emulsifiers. That’s the Supernature promise.

The Problem.

Whilst many of our clients find Kubix in the Shopify Experts directory, it was actually our CEO Looay who stumbled across the Supernature brand whilst he was attending the Speciality Fine Food Fair down in London. Looay had gone along to the event to see whether any of the emerging superfood brands were worth connecting with, and in amongst the free samples and people walking to and fro, he began a conversation about Shopify with a vinegar brand. Looay was told by the stall’s business owner that he had to meet snack connoisseur and business owner Noele, as she was in desperate need of a new website.

After an introduction and getting to know one another, Noele opened up to Looay and explained about her brand and her journey to date. Supernature had dealt with other agencies before, but their website build had never gone to plan. They’d always dreamed of selling their handmade chocolates online, but the previous agency who had built the website didn’t factor in e-commerce and built her a Wordpress brochure site instead. Noele was in desperate need of a channel to sell her creations that she could easily edit and brand up. We knew that Shopify would be the perfect choice for her.

A few weeks later, and Noele showed how serious she was about our Kubix team by jumping on a plane from Ireland over to our Birmingham offices. She said she wanted to find the best team to help grow her brand, and she believed Kubix could take her there.

The Vision.

Supernature had already become a hit with major supermarkets and high street retailers when they came on board for their Shopify site. As their Wordpress site still reflected the brand values, we decided to replicate all we could across to Shopify and turn a beautiful brochure site into a seamless e-commerce store. We knew that our challenge was to create online loyalty to the Supernature store directly, taking the efforts that they’d gone to offline to build a following and taking this online too. The best way to do this was to construct a 360 marketing plan including SEO, PPC and social media assets as soon as the website went live.

The Solution.

Colour was always a huge part of the Supernature branding, and we knew that we had to bring the brand heavily into the website design. Bold yellows, greens and reds were used to reflect the colouring of the product packaging itself, and we took time to gather images of Noele and her family to tell the Supernature story and do so in style.

Our team launched the brand new Supernature Shopify website at the start of 2020, and it’s already proven to be a hit with foodies, families and loyal Supernature fans alike. Upon going live, Noele and her team saw orders come through from across the UK, including a staff member from the Google Ireland offices.

Early audience traffic indicated that the market was growing, and since that initial launch Noele has already seen thousands of bars sold from her site. Our design team has developed the Supernature brand guidelines and tone of voice, and prepared a full social media strategy geared towards building their social reputation and earning social shares and engagement. The Kubix team will also soon be introducing a Subscription Model to earn repeat custom in this crucial stage of growth for the brand.

The Growth Plan.

Now that the e-commerce building blocks are in place for Noele and her family, we’ve got all we need to help grow the brand online. As we often say in the Kubix office: a great website isn’t so great if nobody sees it. Our challenge now is to really push the digital footprint whilst the Supernature family continues to focus on offline events and networking. Brand awareness is the key to opening up all these doors. And the way we do this is by targeting people that have gluten and/or dairy intolerances.

With social ads and Google ads now set up and running, this next stage is for monitoring their effectiveness and driving more eyeballs to the website. We’ve been effectively targeting people based on pages they follow and their interests, with ad sets for potential customers who have an interest in gluten-free diet and gluten-free living.

Like any good business relationship, the connection between Kubix and Supernature has continued to go from strength to strength. The best part? Our kitchen has stayed stocked up with the ultimate tasty treats. We can’t get enough of them, and now it’s our job to spread the word.
