Art Deco Designs
To capture the brand’s traditional yet whimsical heritage, our design team got to work gathering opulent Art Deco inspiration from a wide variety of e-commerce brands using this style. From theatrical illustrative hands to intricate line art and extravagant stylised content blocks, we used this strong 1920s theme to reflect the symmetrical wardrobe illustration that forms the original TWC logo. Not all of the elements were Art Deco, however. Given the naturally derived oils and fragrances used in their moth sprays, sachets and cedar balls, we also wanted to add some softer elements to the design, so subtle plant illustrations were featured on each page. As Total Wardrobe Care was due for a new product photography shoot, we also recommended natural light and as many plants in the photography as possible.
After showcasing concepts to Julia and the team, they were thrilled with the initial style and provided feedback in a very 1920s manner - simple pen and paper. Our team received their notes in the post (and a whole host of products to try) and translated them back to the big screen. It was then time for our development and operations teams to get to work on bringing the old Wordpress site into the Shopify ecosystem.
