When Royal Academy of Dance Enterprises came to us wanting a brand new website for their online store, we approached the project in much the same way: with a strict focus on the details that would make it something beautiful.

As the retail arm of The Royal Academy of Dance, RAD Enterprises was created as a resource for dancers and dance teachers, selling syllabuses, RAD approved uniforms and even gifts. Although based in the UK, 50% of their customer base is international. With brick and mortar stores located in London and around the world, providing user-friendly access to all of the dancers that need it is an important part of what they do.

A prestigious dance company needs an impressive website and the current platform that RAD Enterprises were working from was proving outdated and unfit for the task at hand. But it wasn’t just the website that needed a modern flair - their retail system also needed an overhaul and the two needed to work seamlessly together. Enter: Kubix, stage left. Sharing the same branding and colours with their parent company, our design team had a solid foundation to build upon, making the design phase smooth sailing. They were able to capture just what the brand was hoping for: a clean and simple design that would bring them into the modern age. Proving a true showcase on both desktop and mobile, the new design was easy to navigate, full of essential information and effortlessly stylish.

But it wasn’t just the website that needed a revamp. The system they were previously working with was proving outdated too and so a move to Shopify would upgrade their online store in more ways than one. One important aspect of their business that needed to be incorporated into this new Shopify store was the different discounts and benefits that members were able to enjoy. For this our operations team installed the app Wholesale Club. Usually used for B2B on a B2C website, we manipulated the use of the app to be able to easily offer discounts to members. It would enable RAD Enterprises to offer tiered discounting for different levels of membership: tier one, for example, receiving 10% off everything with specific collections at 30% off. All the customer would need to do to access this is log into their account - as soon as they do, the prices on the website would be automatically updated.
