Ah, sales. New biz. Opportunities. Call it what you will, we had many discussions about our new business processes and how we attract exciting brands to work with.

Some ideas were arguably better than others. We ruled out door-knocking. We didn’t like the idea of holding up a giant A-frame on the Aston Expressway saying “Buy a Website”. Too much effort.

So then we thought: sod it. Most brands come to us first, so why not give them an idea of what to expect? We want you to know EXACTLY what happens when you email our team, and how we match ourselves with the businesses who knock on our proverbial door. From that initial enquiry right through to your first week of a website project, we’ve laid out our sales process so that you know it’s less selling, more… well. Talking. Because we like talking.

It All Starts With an Introduction

Just like a game of chess or an online dating app, one person has to make a move to get things into gear.

Usually? It’s you, throwing your hat into the ring by sending us an email.

You might be after a new website or store migration. Perhaps you need some help with your social or Google ads. Or you might be working all hours of the day on your online business, but don’t know how to reach that next level of growth.

Whatever your pain points, we’re here to hear them. This is your chance to tell us exactly which parts of your business you need help with. The more information we get at this stage, the better.

As soon as you fill in our enquiry form, we’ll get a lovely “ding” of an enquiry message hitting our inbox. This gets us all excited. Like an enthusiastic stalker, we immediately want to know who you are, what you do, and how we can get involved.

Ahem. You Came to ME?

Now, if you’re very lucky, you might meet our team at a trade show, or a coffee shop, or an Enterprise car dealership (yes, this one actually happened). Of course, we didn’t plan for this. It’s not really our style to go for the hard sell. We’re not trying to zone in on you like a homing missile. We don’t have strict sales targets, and besides, trade shows are exhausting.

Chances are, we just spotted your brand and thought you looked pretty cool. And if you’ve got a website which could do with some improvement? We’ll step in and say hi.

Once you’ve been introduced to Kubix and have a better idea of what we do, we’ll suggest a Zoom call. Step one? Completed it mate.

The Zoom of all Zooms

You like what you’ve seen so far, and you think Kubix might be a good match for you. Now comes the proper call. The first date, as it were. Over the course of a 20-30 minute Zoom, we’ll give you a whirlwind tour of Kubix, what we do, and how we could potentially use our systems and processes to benefit your brand.

Because let’s face it, until we’ve dug a little deeper, we don’t quite know what you need. We’re not Mystic Meg. Even you might not know what you need at this stage. Everyone who joins us on a Zoom call has different business requirements, so it’s our job to figure out the best plan of action for you.

If you’re already on Shopify, then we might talk you through how we’d recommend a new theme, or redesign the theme you’re currently on. If you’re on another e-commerce platform *cough, boo, cough*, then we’ll give you a bit more of a technical scope about migrating your old site and how it’s actually not as terrifying as it sounds. And if you’ve never even heard of Shopify and just liked our Kubix branding? Then once we’ve finished blushing, we’ll talk you through Shopify and exactly what it does.

Here’s the catch.

At this point, you’re scoping us, but we’re scoping you. Not every project will be quite right for our team, so we have to figure out if your goals and values align with our own.

As one particular gentleman quickly realised once when he stumbled into our office off the street and said: “I’d like a website.”

We replied with: “What do you sell?”

He said: “I don’t know. I haven’t started yet.”

“Well, what would you like to start selling?”

“Eh, I don’t care.”

At this point, it was a hard pass from us. We’re looking for business owners with passion and a plan. We’re not going to take clients on for the sake of it, and honestly? When it comes to marketing in particular, we’re going to fight the fights we know we can win. If you take pride in your business, we can take care of you.

So if we think you’ve got something, we’ll let you know about it. And whether it’s one Zoom call, two, or even three, we’ll take the time to get to know your brand before putting pen to paper and finalising the details of your package. Then it’s proposal time.

The Proposal

This is it. Our big moment. You’ve spoken with our team on a few occasions now, and you’re starting to match our faces to the names on our About Us page.

At this point, we’ve got all you need to put together the perfect package for you.

We’ll send you a very thorough document via email with all you need to know about your potential website or marketing project, and that all-important dotted line. Do your thing. Read it. Or don’t, if you like to live life on the edge. (We’d still recommend reading it). Absorb it.

You might suddenly have questions that you hadn’t thought of before. If you’re having a new website, you might be wondering what our team needs from you in terms of branding and imagery. If you’re coming on board for marketing, you might be wondering about giving us access to your accounts and what kind of ad budget you need. At this point if you still have questions, you just need to reply and voice anything that hasn’t been covered off. We’ll make sure to update your proposal accordingly, or answer the question on a separate email.

We always say, if it feels right, then go for it. We would never send a proposal if we didn’t think we could make a big difference to the brand we’re sending it to. When you’re ready, all you have to do is complete a digital sign-off. This gives us the go-ahead and immediately brings your project on board. Easy.

Onboarding

Congratulations! You’re part of the Kubix client base! Firstly, welcome. This is an exciting step. Once you’ve signed that proposal, then you can prepare yourself for a world of agency updates, brand progression and a loveable team who will support you all the way.
