Refund to Store Credit

A long awaited update adding more capabilities to native returns on Shopify. Issuing a refund to store credit, available now online and on POS, means not only a slicker journey for the customer but also retains the revenue from the original sale and encourages repeat purchases.
Returns have become a pain point in the industry for many merchants; this update means not only keeping the sales you’ve worked hard to acquire but also enables you to use the returns journey to build value and market to customers so they keep coming back.
A Power-up for POS
As well as some serious fine tuning to the visual layout, we also have some high impact improvements to POS functionality. Mixed fulfilment is now available, meaning in a single transaction customers can purchase items in-store and ship others to their homes. This helps extend the brand journey beyond the single store visit and reduces friction for customers hunting down products that might not be in stock in certain locations.
Alongside enhanced branding and personalisation on display screens and POS terminals, this means merchants can deliver a truly unified commerce experience to all in-store visitors.
Apple Pay in Checkout
“Apple Pay, that’s been available on Shopify for years” we hear you say. And you’re not wrong.
But this Editions update comes with an additional Apple Pay placement directly in the checkout payment options. While formerly the express checkout options would skip discount code entry, allowing checkout functions to run and skipping straight past your final upsell opportunity, customers can now experience the full checkout journey and still convert in
The best part? This is an entirely automatic update so you can see your conversions rise without even lifting a finger.
Multiple Countries, Multiple Entities

A sure fire sign that Enterprise merchants are in Shopify's sights, this recent release opens more brands up to using their baked-in internationalisation tools.
Markets now allows a company to sell from multiple business entities and payout into multiple currencies. Reducing operational headaches and inter-company transfers this addition breaks down more barriers to large scale brands stepping onto the Shopify platform.
Matched up with other Markets improvements like increased local payment options in the EU and more transparency on site around tariffs, cross-border selling just got a glow up.
B2B but Better
Don’t let it be said that Shopify isn’t a platform for B2B merchants, each Editions release sees even more functionality being opened up for trade customers to shop with ease. This version is no different.
A stand out for us is more apps being opened up to work with Shopify B2B, meaning even more avenues to enhance the shopping experience. From the NetSuite ERP Connector through to tools like Cart Whisperer, Shopify clearly has B2B front of mind.
Oh, and you thought we were done talking about Markets? Think again. B2B now works with Markets so you can set up unique catalogues, currencies and on-site customisations for different international sectors of your B2B market. Internationalisation and B2B now go hand-in-hand meaning even more avenues for expansion for businesses.
Migrate Stores with Ease
Suppose a migration to Shopify wasn’t already tempting enough, Shopify have packaged up a new native app, called Store Migration, which can take CSV exports from platforms like Amazon, WooCommerce and Etsy.
A step beyond the old Store Importer app, this has increased capabilities of helping merchants get their data into the right places in the Shopify admin and opens the door to more platform migrations and more multi-channel merchants including Shopify in their sales channels.
Easier set up for your Shopify store? It’s a winner for us.
Horizon - a New Theme Concept

We couldn’t wrap up this round of Editions highlights without mentioning its namesake, the brand new, AI-first theme concept from Shopify - Horizon.
The Horizon theme collection includes 10 brand new themes with a range of styles and presets catering to a vast array of brands. Each theme is supercharged with AI tools, including simply describing a section you want to add and having it generated before your eyes.
Brands joining the platform unsure how to get started with a theme to showcase their products can now simply describe their brand and be delivered a theme tailored to its specific needs and product range.
It’s notable throughout that Shopify has put AI at the front and centre of this Editions release, not only bringing Horizon, but also in areas such as levelling up Sidekick capabilities.
We sense there will be even more AI centric updates with the next Editions releases too, a trend that comes as no surprise. Using every AI tool in the box is sure to overcomplicate matters but understanding how it can play a part in your business (whatever that may be) is a key to unlocking huge efficiencies in all areas.
The best part, this isn’t all, there are over 150 updates and you can read more about all of them here.
If that leaves you feeling more lost at sea and struggling rather than confidently sailing towards the horizon, get in touch. We can help you navigate your way to the updates which matter the most for your business.
